I agree,Gremlin missed the point,I'm also not mad that the judges don't like what I like,but it seems now judges like candy coated meat and anything less is scored down,p-lain and simple.The absolute best smoked,seasoned,moist,tended,etc. bbq scores low unless it's candy coated and thats the truth no matter,been there,seen it dozens and dozens of times.And once a again,it is a MEAT contest,not a candy coating,sauce contest.And I bet some of the best BBQ made by some teams is scored low because it's not drowned in sweet sticky candy,honey,mollasses,parkay,sauce.Candy coated meat is not bbq,plain and simple.
