Rick, You don't want goat, you want chevon. Chevon is a yearling goat and it is a lot more tender than a fully mature goat. The very first BBQ contest award that Dad and I won was back in 1987. We placed 3rd in chevon at the Missouri State Fair.

I once assisted a bunch of biker type fellas who had a goat they wanted to roast. The animal was humanely treated and slaughtered appropriately. Unbeknowst to me, one of the bikers decided to place the severed head on top of the fence post that was at the entrance of the long driveway. He did this so the out of towners could find the property where the party was being held.

Apparently the goats head drew some unwanted attention. The local sheriff showed up while we were cooking the goat. The sheriff told us that someone had called the office with a complaint that there was a gathering of devil worshippers at the party site. The caller had based their complaint because of the goats head on the fence post. We showed the sheriff the goat that was on the smoker and he laughed. He also wanted to know what time it would be ready. We invited him back for supper and he said he might be able to make it. He then requested that we remove the head from the fence post.

Good thing the sheriff didn't return for supper. That goat was tough and it didn't taste very good either.

Lager,

Juggy
