My old stomping ground. Learned to cook from several people in the area.
Allen & Sons. The one on Hwy 86. Lived a couple miles from here growing up. Good food, and they burn wood
The Pig. Newer place in Chapel Hill. Good people, and have heard good things.
Crooks Corner. Great restaurant, and they do have bbq. They get it from Bullocks in Durham. You can get a sandwich with purple slaw, just ask, it isn't on the menu. This is a very important restaurant as far as southern cooking is concerned, and a must visit if in the area.
Stay away from Jim's Famous Bbq.
