Since brisket is a unique cut of meat and has its' own flavor, is it not important to NOT to try to adjust the flavor to that of a grilled steak?
Although not a competition cook I share the fact that I use a Scandinavian spice that was once available in most grocery stores. Many Scandinavians used it on roasted lamb for wonderful results. It simply enhances the natural flavor of both lamb and beef brisket.
