bob sent me this today. it may be a smaller contest, but its not going to be a cake walk :). this is a chance to win the iowa state championship, sponsored by the iowa bbq society.

from bob-
15th Annual Iowa State BBQ Championships are still alive and well. Do to the amount rain that Marshalltown has received; the event has been moved from the Riverview Park to the Fisher Community Center. The Fisher Community Center is located at the intersection of South Center Street and West Anson Street. Just like the 2012 Championships, the Grand Champion will be get an automatic entry to the World Food Championships in Las Vegas in the fall.

Some things the BBQ Teams need to be aware of:
1) Electricity will NOT be available so teams will need to bring along their own generators.
2) Water will be available from a central location but no individual team water hose connections will be available.
3) Since the event is not at the Park, picnic tables will not be available.
4) The event will be run just like all previous BBQ Championships; Cooks meeting at 5:00 (location TBA), same turn in times, trash and ash barrels will be provided ect.

The list of BBQ Teams entered as of 5:00pm Thursday, June 6, 2013 are:
A Grillin and A Chillin,
Big T'z Q Cru,
Bio Hazard BBQ,
Dig-In Cookers / Hawgeyes,
