That sounds like a great contest. Your injection sounds fine to me. I would cut the dark meat from the white meat and grill each piece differently. I would make sure each gets a good dose of smoke in the beginning by keeping the chicken on the cool side of the grill. Of course I like the taste of grilled chicken better then smoked.

If you don't cook a side then the chicken has to be great. A good chicken entree with a killer side would probably win.
