The bad thing with variables is you can't count on them to generate revenue. Events are sponsor driven now days. This event has all the "festival" elements, live music, car show, carnival, blah, blah....And it's going on it's fifth year with a track record of several thousand in attendance. BUT, what if it rains? No beverage revenue, any admissions, sampling etc. And rain insurance isn't worth the paper it's written on plus a large expense. Sponsors and entries, that way you get paid regardless of weather.
