Well Mike, from where I sit, you can make friends and develop relationships through BBQ without the KCBS. You can conceivably spend 35 bucks elsewhere to help promote BBQ as America's cuisine.
Some people believe that the members don't have a voice and the opinions of those outside of a certain clique are ignored. And that opinion has been out there for quite a while.
So, for some, we are left with supporting youth and education through grants. On that front, spending $35 on some pork shoulders and teaching Scouts in your area about BBQ would be a more hands-on approach.
This comment: 'It saddens me that people in the past have soured peoples opinions but I also realize that some people will never be happy and will have to complain and question everything.'
could lead people to believe that your opinion is that there is no merit to the concerns of those that complain and question.
There may be a valid point to the concept that if the KCBS continues along the same path regardless of the feedback of the membership then the only way to truly vote is with your wallet.
