My grandpa is 90 and was one of the hardest working people I have ever known. Before my grandma died many years ago we would have dinner at their house every Sunday afternoon. My grandpa more often than not would have his unique BBQ pit fired up with a couple of different meats on Saturday and would have them in a warmer on Sunday morning As far as I know, he never seasoned his BBQ with anything but smoke. That is the kind of BBQ that I grew up on. That was the families time together. I have no clue where he got his pit(it was handmade by someone) but I was fortunate to acquire one by coincedence a few years ago. That is the pit that I have been learning on and asking questions of grandpa and my uncle who also has one made by the same person. Firing up my pit Makes me think about my family together which was about as happy as I get. I also may get to give a little back to my grandpa as I recently found out he has never had a fried turkey before and am planing on Thanksgiving with him.
