We only went out for BBQ once, to Bub-ba-q in Woodstock, GA. I was very impressed with the food, and it is hard for a restaurant to impress me with BBQ. I had tastes of pulled pork, dry ribs and brisket. Sides were greens and baked beans. The brisker was the best I had ever eaten in a restaurant and better most that I have eaten. Pulled pork was very moist but I would have liked a little more flavor - but a little of the spicy sauce fixed that. Ribs were very good as well. Greens and baked beans were also among the best I have eaten in restaurants. Overall, my wife and I were very impressed with the place.
We also visited the downtown Varsity late one night for hot dogs. Wacky place the way it is set up with parking and seating. Growing up in Chicago, I am biased toward that style of dog. I must admit the chili dogs were really good.
Trader Vic's for the older Tiki joint was a blast! A bit expensive but fun.
Thanks to all for the recommendations.
