I don't have any opinion about 'can I keep the doors in/on'?, but from your description, it sounds like you are attempting to put this in a very tight area...I would be very cautious about putting you set-up anywhere near the sides (siding?) of your house...too much heat, while maybe not enough to ignite your siding, could at least (if it was vinyl siding) cause the siding to droop and or melt. From experience, I would say you need a good 2 or 3 feet between your grill/barbecue and the side of your house.
