I don't use any marinade on ribs. Here is a good video that was featured on the forum a few days ago. It's a good video but I don't cook ribs this way either. I prefer to remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Apply the rub, cook the ribs at about 235 degrees in the smoker and when the meat has pulled back on the bones about 1/2 inch I eat them. One other thing I sauce them a bit the last 20 minutes or so.
