Thanks for all the suggestions fellas! Here's my typical routine I was using - My WSM is the 18" version, I would fill the ring with charcoal and about 3 - 4 chunks of wood, leaving just enough room for a full chimney of charcoal. Once the chimney was ready, I would drop in the hot coals and let-r-rip!! Usually this takes me about 3/4 of a bag of Kingsford. I like a lot of the suggestions, so I'll play around with each of them to see what works best for me.
Any idea why Weber specifically recommends NOT using lump charcoal??
