I agree with you all the prices I am seeing are closer to double what they were a year ago. I went to the meat market a couple of weeks ago to get some beef short ribs and flank steak. They wanted $20 for four short ribs and over $20 for a very small flank steak. On top of that both of them were frozen. He froze them because he is selling very little of those type of items at these high prices. I told him he could keep them and I would be back when and if the price thaw comes.
What really worries me is the price of gasoline and the cost of all food. We as a country could be paying dearly for as not becoming energy independent. Gasoline prices could skyrocket to $5.00 a gallon or more and that would have a very bad effect on the cost of everything.
Back to the meat prices I didn't buy what I went to the market to buy but I did buy a pound of bacon and it was over $7.00 a pound.
