With 100 degree weather knocking down the door, here are some summer tips on being chicken safe.
1) You know that chicken juice yellow tray? Just a couple hours in the garbage can will have it throwing a maggot party and by the next day your neighbors will be calling the police to look for dead bodies. take the dang thing, wrap it up in the bag it came in and put it in the freezer. Throw it in the garbage can on trash pick up day. I have a none food freezer we keep blue ice in so I use that. If you don't have that luxury make sure you keep it away from food.
2) I keep a big bottle of hand sanitizer on my prep table. After any chicken or meat prep I shoot some on the table and wipe it down. Between the sanitizer and the sun getting the stainless steel table up to 200 degrees, ain't no bad bugs going to live through that.
