Piggy backing of your lead here Professor. I have owned a PT100 and like it. The probe has now gone out on it, called Maverick and they had me mail it to them and they repaired and shipped it back to me at no cost. I will also say I will not spend the money on another Maverick or Thremapen, now that I have tried Thermoworks new "Thermopop" they run $25-$30, have a quick rcovery time of about 3-5secs. And for the price I can replace 3 times before I reach the cost of either one of the aforementioned thermo's.
