When I first saw your post I thought that "this post has the worse chance of anyone answering it of any post ever posted on the forum." Why would anyone who has their brisket in the top ten ever post a message here or anywhere else telling everyone the name of the rub they use. But then I got to thinking about it. If they make and sell a rub that scores in the top ten then why wouldn't they tell you about it. Now they may do something else to that basic rub and keep that a secret but why not miss a chance to promote their rub. But maybe they will and maybe they won't I guess we will see.

If I was you I would look at the rub sold by proven winners. I would look at Butchers BBQ rub for example. He is an advertiser and seems to be doing real well in contests. Some of our other advertisers sell and use their rub like the Slabs, Oakridge and Oklahoma Joe's Cowtown rub. There are a lot of top 10 calls in that bunch. Heck you may not have to look any further than these guys.
