Rick,

Back in the day our first charcoal sponsor was Maple Leaf Charcoal through their US distributor Laralee Distributors.

Did write some articles but I no longer have them on file.

According to my memory:

Maple Leaf Charcoal was made from fallen trees they gathered from the Quebec area where they were located.

They used three types of wood, Sugar Maple, Alder & Birch.

Laralee also was our first wood sponsor and supplied us with Sugar Maple, Alder & Birch which we used with the Maple Leaf Charcoal.

Don't know about the other types of Maples, but Sugar Maple was great with all meats. Not overpowering. Reminded me of the fruit woods (apple, cherry, etc.).

Will be watching you on the Drone Channel, should wave now and then.

Don
