As with any pellet smoker, the smoke is a mild flavor and not over powerful or strong. Traeger was the first to come out with a pellet smoker and probably is no.1 in sales based on longevity of the time they have been around. I've had a couple of Traegers (Older model Texan - 075 and recently sold a Jr (055 model). The temp control was just OK but I learned how to cook on them. That is the key to any cooker, learn your grill. There is other pellet cookers out there that have more advance temp controls and features - ex Green Mountain Grills, Yoder, Fast Eddy, Rec-Tec, Danson etc. There is pros and cons to every smoker. If there is a only a Traeger dealer near you, check them out. It would be a good start into pellet cooking.
