Ray, One thing I have heard through out the years is this. I have had more that one judge who I have talked to after judging the invitational tell me that they thought the entries would have been of higher quality.
Some judges who may have never judged the invitational seem to be more critical at this contest than they would be at a regular contest. It seems that some of them have a preconceived idea in their head that because this is the invitational and teams that are cooking have won a contest, that the samples they judge should be of better quality than what they would get a regular contest.
