Several years ago I made lard this way except I didn't mash stuff up. Tasted very good! Used it for severs things. Have 3 cases of butts to do this weekend. After seeing this video I think it's time to make it again.
On a similar yet bit of a different fat I save our bacon grease and one of its uses is brushing it on potatoes then seasoning and putting them in smoker at higher temps to bake. Either eat potatoes as is or make potato skins and fill with choice of items. Been doing bbq skins lately.
