Dr. BBQ's Favorite BBQ Joints" Today is the day I apologize to the great BBQ Joints that I forgot when I made this list. I will try to do better next time but for now I will tell you that these places all belong on my list somewhere and are definitely among my favorites. The problem is I made the list and started posting immediately. I should have waited a few days. I may have forgotten some others too but for now here I go. I really am sorry for leaving off 4 Rivers Smokehouse in Winter Park, FL, Plowboys BBQ in Blue Springs, MO and Clem Mikeska's in Temple, Texas. 4 Rivers is now up to 10 locations but still serving great BBQ in all of them. Have the brisket and beef rib and definitely save room for a cupcake or the Creme Brule Bread Pudding. Plowboys served us about the best ribs and brisket I have ever eaten in a restaurant. It's a nice place run by nice people. Go there. Last but not least is Johnny Trigg's favorite BBQ restaurant and one of mine too. Clem Mikeska's is one of a family of legendary BBQ men from Texas and his restaurant in Temple serves smoked sirloin that is some of the best meat I've ever eaten in a BBQ Joint. The sauce is kind of like a BBQ gravy and it pairs perfectly with the beef. It's unique and delicious. The ribs are really good too and they have some fun sides. Lots of weird wildlife mounts cap off the experience. They have some new locations that I haven't been to but if I'm on I-35 south of Dallas I'm going to the one in Temple.
