used two of the olyers at their plant in Garland to cook 1200 pounds of pork butt for a Kraft demo and used 6 each 1/4 log splits in each one at 10 pm after getting a bed of coals. Went home and came back at 6 am and added another 4 splits.
Also own a couple of cookshacks. The Oyler will give the wood smoke but the Cookshack is easier to set and forget.
For a killer smoke ring use tender quick and your oven. It is all about moisture and green wood. Not a good indication of proper BBQ.
