I'm kind of new to smoking stuff, food that is, and have a question about the wood for my smoker. How long do chips/chunks need to "season" before I can use them in my smoker. We recently cut down an apple tree in the yard and I thought it would be great to use some for my smoker. I know I need to leave the wood season for a while before I can use it in my furnace, but how about the smoker? Any help would be great!!
