Doubt that you'll be able to tell a difference. And you can use charcoal and wood in the SP. If you are looking at the Southern Pride, then check out Ole Hickory Pits. Very similar design that produce same quality of finished product, but IMHO, better built and much better customer service. Most replacement parts can be bought at Grainger. I don't have anything to gain by suggesting Ole Hickory, have just owned both cookers so there is a background of use and experience.
