When Mike started this thread he wrote, "...this is kind of bbq related, as some bbq people hire help."
If the availability, quality and price of meats, woods, charcoal, spices, sauces, pits and other elements involved in producing and selling BBQ are relevant on this forum then why wouldn't the cost of staff for a BBQ restaurant/caterer/vendor or a manufacturer/marketer of pits, sauces, etc be relevant?
Also, the whole issue of entry level/minimum wage jobs being entry level vs a means to support a family, buy a house and put your children through college is very important not only to the BBQ community but pretty much all aspects of our culture.
Some economists believe there will be fewer jobs, fewer companies as a result of requiring the increases passed in California and being considered in other states/nationwide.
Some think it will be just wonderful.
It's a very important discussion for just about everyone.
