Thank you so much for all the suggestions. After careful consideration and looking at what is available in our area, as well as the room on the deck/patio (WSM, Medium Egg, Weber Kettle and gas grill we've bought in the past 30 years) we bought a 3 rack Cookshack TODAY and they delivered it TODAY. We seasoned it tonight and will load 'er up with butt and ribs tomorrow to try it out. Our retirement gift to us. . .

We took all of your input and decided that all in all, we wanted something that we didn't have to buy and store more things for right now like pellets, and that we can walk away from. I had an idea so see what about this: If we smoke it pretty heavy on the egg for a few hours THEN put it in the Cookshack, would that give us more bark and a better smoke ring? Gonna try that sometime! LOL!!

We figure we can get enough for a party out of this Cookshack without adult supervision, so for right now that's ok. I told my husband if we don't like it, there would be a GOOD market for it at the city garage sale next spring

And isn't part of BBQ really about trying equipment (toys) out any way? I SO MUCH APPRECIATE your thoughts. But now I want a pellet smoker too. . . envy? Yeah, that is part of the fun of this "sport!"

I'll report back on the maiden voyage of the Cookshack (and made in Oklahoma how could we resist a Cookshack?).
