Alder Wood chips for smoking

I am looking for a local (KC) source for Alder wood chips. I think the wood is excellent with chicken, pork and fish.

Let me know if you can't find a source for alder chips in KC. I live in the Northwest and alder grows like a weed here.
You are right, alder is excellent in the smoker.

You can buy Alder wood chips at American Wood Products 9540 Riggs, Overland Park, KS 1-800-223-9046 or 913-648-7993. I found this in the Kansas City Barbeque Society's new cookbook. Which also contains a great sounding recipe for smoking a turkey using this wood.
