WHAT MAKES K.C. BAR B Q SO DAMN HOT. I'VE COOKED BAR B Q FOR OVER 25 YEARS IN SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA OVER SLOW PECAN AND HICKORY WOOD AND I THINK IT IS THE BEST AROUND BUT ALL I HEAR IS ABOUT KC BAR B Q.

I KNOW YOU HAVE TO HAVE GOOD INGREDIENTS, THAT IS GOOD MEAT, GOOD WOOD AND
LONG SLOW COOKING. PORK AND CHICKEN I USE GOOD SPICES, BEEF I JUST USE SALT AND PEPPER AND LONG, SLOW COOKING.

TELL ME WHAT MAKES THIS BAR B Q DIFFERENT FROM SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA OR TEXAS

BAR B Q.?????

JUST AN INTERESTING OKIE WANTING TO KNOW THE TRUTH.

Boo Ray,

I've pondered your question many times over in my mind and I can only come to one conclusion: It's the Kansas City air!

I just stepped outside, took a huge whiff, and guess what, it's smells like good Kansas City Bar-B-Que, all the time!

Just wait until the next real strong North Wind blows in Oklahoma. That will probably your best opportunity to enjoy some really good transplanted KC air for a change, and maybe cook some of the best Bar-B-Que ever. Be careful though, if that wind is swirling and some of it is coming out of the south, you might as well trash the whole load. Meat tainted with Texas Mesquite air might send you into convulsions!

Love ya Man!

Mr. Boo, you ask a question that's been asked before.
The answer is -- that's why BBQ contests were created, so folks can find out whose is the best. Yours might be the best

I have to agree with Mike's comment. The air must have something to do with it. I just never thought of it until he mentioned it.

Another reason that you hear a lot about KC BBQ is fact that there are a lot of people in KC that take BBQ very serious. Anyway you cut it there are some very good teams from KC. Just take a look at the Jack Daniels report on this web page.

However, there are a lot of good BBQ people in the world. There are also a lot of people out there that think they are good but just don't know what is good.

The email that I get from all over the world proves this. There are some people in some parts of the world that think BBQ means going to Burger King.
