HELP! I am trying to locate the Kansas City Bar B Q Association
to get rules and regs for a cook off. We are planning on holding
the event in July of '96 and would like to be a "sanctioned"
event. Any help in finding the KCBS would be appreciated!

The organization is called the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Their
snail mail address is KCBS, 11514 Hickman Mills Dr, KCMO 64134
816-765-5891.
Good Luck!

We are also planning a BBQ cook-off, but date is May 11 and it will be in Northeast Arkansas approximately 1 1/2 hour from Memphis. Need rules and regs...also need source for cook-off teams. $500.00 prize money for BBQ contest, but many other events will be a part of Lake-Feast '96. Turkey Calling Contest first place winners of each division will win a new shotgun. Let me know if you can help!

What are the two or three best BBQ cookoffs, events to go to during
any year? By best, I mean the most well attended, highest prizes,
most sought after awards , etc. I would like to attend a couple
to
get the feel of it.......

Memphis in May, the Reno/Sparks cook off labor day, The American Royal in Kansas city in October, and the Jack Daniels again in October. These are some of the big ones that I would like to get to.
