The Kamakaze Kookers of Overland Park, Kansas bested 29 other teams to capture the Grand Champions title at the Seventh Annual Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue in Lynchburg, Tennessee, Oct. 28, 1995

Oklahoma Joe's All-Stars of Westwood, Kansas finished second to bring home The Alternate Champion trophy.

Frank "Frog" Bobo, the pitmaster of ceremonies said. "Folks from Kansas have always done well at our competition." "Today, the teams from Kansas captured both the Grand and Alternate Championships and made a strong case for that part of the country having the best barbecue."

On the pork rib front The Meatheads of Kansas City beat cross town rival The Three Little Pigs of Kansas City, Missouri to take first place.

Third placed overall winner Wildfire won the pork shoulder division by beating Heat's Neat Cook Team of Prairie Village, Kansas.

Re/Max Is Cookin' Now from Weatherby Lake, Missouri won first in the brisket contest.

M & M Cookers of Shawnee Mission,.Kansas won the whole hog division.
