The cherry pie filling will go on about 3/4s the way through the smoke. I separate the cherries from the "goo" and "spackle" the goo all over the pork. Then I take pineapple rings and inbed them in the cherry goo. Next I take those cherries and put one in the center of each pineapple ring and secure them with a toothpick, return to the smoker to finish. I would like to have a cherry rub on the pork before the goo goes on. )
